Project Summary

DOUVRIS the premier karate school in Ottawa, with seven locations across the city offering classes in martial arts and martial arts-inspired fitness classes. The company sought Kaszas Marketing for direction and guidance in its marketing. The landscape for martial arts and fitness continues to evolve and change, and DOUVRIS wished to ensure that it keeps pace, maintains its leadership position, and continues to grow membership.

Approach

We conducted a comprehensive Marketing Audit to get DOUVRIS the answers and provide the direction it needed to maintain and expand its leadership position. Our work encompassed competitive, online, and in-field research, in-person client interviews and site visits, and detailed analysis of sales and marketing statistics.

We provided DOUVRIS with a detailed status report on its business and competitive landscape and clarity on its strengths, weaknesses, and best opportunities. Our recommendations encompassed improving the sales process, franchise model, marketing programs, communication, and more. This gave DOUVRIS clear direction on priority areas for attention and investment, as well as renewed confidence in its business.

Our findings resulted in a variety of improvements and initiatives that we oversaw, including:

  • Refreshed corporate identity and brand book
  • New website universe, including corporate site and microsites for each school
  • All-new advertising and promotion materials
  • New signage for the schools
  • New programs, offers, and marketing initiatives, both online and offline

Impact

For a year, we also worked with DOUVRIS as its Virtual Marketing Manager to develop and launch a comprehensive and consistent marketing and communications mix, which included:
